Will you be joining us at Gillieru Harbour Hotel this summer? If so, the time will soon come to begin packing your bags. But what is the best way to save space and get more from your luggage?
We have put together some quick tips you can use when packing for you holiday to Malta.
Check the weather
Will it be hot, cold, rainy? Check the weather of your destination first to ensure that you pack the right attire for your trip.
Make a list
After checking the weather, make a list of all the items you will need for each day. If you like to change clothes twice or three times per day, take that into account and list the actual items you will need to take with you.
Pack versatile clothing
When it comes to clothing, pack items that can be worn several times not just once. By that we don’t mean your underwear, but things such as hats or shorts can be used more than once.A sundress can be dressed up with heels for a night out, or dressed down with sandals for a day at the beach. Choose clothing items that are lightweight and breathable, and can be layered for cooler evenings.
Roll your clothes
Rolling your clothes instead of folding them can help save space in your suitcase. This technique also helps prevent wrinkles and makes it easier to find the item you need without having to dig through your suitcase.
Use packing cubes
Packing cubes are a great way to stay organized while traveling. Use them to separate your clothing items, toiletries, and accessories. This will not only make it easier to find what you need, but it will also prevent your items from getting mixed up or lost in your suitcase.
Pack your shoes separately
Shoes can take up a lot of space in your suitcase, so it’s best to pack them separately. Use a shoe bag or plastic bags to keep them separate from your clothing items. This will also prevent your shoes from getting your clothes dirty.
Use travel-sized toiletries
Toiletries can also take up a lot of space in your suitcase. Instead of packing full-sized products, opt for travel-sized versions. This will not only save space, but it will also comply with airline regulations. If you are traveling to a destination where you know you can buy your favourite toiletries, then just take the essentials such as deodorant and buy the items while your there to save space in your luggage.
Don’t forget your travel documents
Lastly, make sure you pack all your travel documents, including your passport, visa (if necessary), and any travel insurance information. Keep them in a separate, easily accessible place in your luggage.
If Malta is your next holiday destination, we look forward to welcoming you at the Gillieru Harbour Hotel.
